More variations on My Favorite Things clipboard

Remember the little clipboards I've made before here and here? Well, here are two more variations. This one is in pink and of course there are so many darling ribbons that could go with that. I can't wait till my little girl can have a "girly" room all of her own and put one of these up for her! Everyday she cuts out and colors and makes multiple pictures, so she'll always have a lot to clip on it. (Remember, under all that ribbon are metal clips--pink clips in this case.)
And I thought this "boyish" one turned out equally cute! I recently bought lots of fabulous ribbon on a trip out to Utah. I found Hobby Lobby and I love it!! I really wish there was one here!
I had already wrapped these boards up in preparation for my upcoming craft show (Oct. 3 in Dayton), so sorry about the wrapping in the pictures! (But no time to unwrap and rewrap!)

My favorite things

Here's another example of the "My favorite things" clipboard that I made earlier. I stained the wood and I really like how it turned out (and so did my friend that ordered it - yeah!).

Now that we've moved, I hope to hang up my board soon and use it for its purpose. My kids are busy painting again now that we've found their paints, so I'm sure I'll have lots of art work to hang up.

I am a child of God sign

Just a shot of my kids' room that includes a sign with red vinyl "I am a child of God" on 1x6 wood...probably about 30 inches long.

My Favorite Things clip board

Here is a new project. It's a 5.5 x 24 inch board with five binder clips screwed into it and vinyl that says "My favorite things". This is a perfect spot to hang up artwork and pictures. Personally, our fridge is in a corner away from everything and it's not a very good place to display the kids' art. So I think this will come in very handy. Also, once we move into a new house, I plan to make a personalized board for each child that matches his/her room. They might say "Marie's Favorite Things" or "Kyle's Art" or something like that. Putting the ribbons on the clips is a fun touch to bring in more color and style. Of course, like always, the board and vinyl can be any color you want.
Vinyl only: $5
Finished board: $20

Also, if you're in the Philadelphia area, we'll be making these at my house on Wednesday, April 22 at 7:30 pm. If you come that night, vinyl will only be $4 and $3 for the remaining supplies for a total of $7 to make it yourself (bring your own matching ribbon). Contact me if you'd like to come.

Flashcard Font

I have a cute flashcard font that I used to put my kids' names on the wall in their bedroom. Here are some pictures:

This next picture is fuzzy, but you can see how his name was over his bed.
It's a fun way to decorate.

Here are a few examples from my home of putting vinyl on the wall. In this first one the idea and vinyl came from my friend (and vinyl mentor) Kathy. I even copied her use of the frames!! Thank-you! The frames come from Ikea as unfinished wood with mirrors. You can take out the mirrors, paint them, add ribbon or fabric (I used a staple gun to attach the fabric strips). I think they only cost about $2 at Ikea.
I thought this saying below was perfect for my baby's jungle-themed room. At least we hope he sleeps there!
This quote below is in the Papyrus font (quite popular) and is a nice little reminder for our bedroom.

Alphabet Letters

Here is a really fun idea for putting vinyl on the wall. My brother and sister-in-law put up these alphabet picture letters around their baby's room. How cute!!! They painted the stripes themselves, and then put a letter at the top of each stripe. I thought it turned out darling. Obviously each letter is quite different and they ranged in size from 5-8 inches tall. This is the Zoo font that I have.

You can also see here their magnet board that says "BOSTON" and "Oh The Places You'll Go".

A 5.5 x 24 inch board, so cute for any girl's room.

What a fun font! Write your child's name with animals.

Baby Birth Announcements

There are lots of really fun ways to display your baby's name and birth information. Here are a couple of ways I've done it so far.

This is a 7x7 sign with the baby's first initial in the background and then name and birth info on top. Of course you can pick the wood color and vinyl color as well as what information you want to include.

After my daughter's birth, I used vinyl to put her birth info right onto the glass of a frame and then a black and white picture of her behind the glass. I bought this frame unfinished at a craft store and then painted it.
You can also make a stacker to display the name and information. In this one below, each piece of wood is 2.5 inches high and 6, 8, and 10 inches long. You can then wrap it with colorful ribbon to match your room.
